Lipstick by Fatma AlSumaiti

I have five thousand lipsticks in my closet.
Different colors.
Different shapes.
Brands from lands I didn’t know existed.
I have five thousand lipstick stains on my face.
All over my breasts.
Across my back.
Down my spine.
I have five thousand colors all over my skin.
They color me.
They cover me.
I am five thousand lipstick stains.
And I am five thousand atrophying compositions
of what used to be colors.
