Warmth by Fahd AlSaleh

-Baked-
A mess, that’s what I am
A crumbling ruin of something that was
A lonely broken pillar
Where a colosseum used to stand
.
Then

.
I was suddenly beat
Kneaded
Rolled
Moulded
Slapped
and tossed into the air
.
Then
.
I was laid flat
Slowly spread apart
Every break and cut revealed
All those bottled up feelings exposed
Naked for everyone to see
.
Then
.
I was lathered with tenderness
Smeared with sentiment
Rubbed with devotion
Sprinkled with affection
and later covered with care
.
Then
.
The jagged edges were folded
The broken bits were shielded
I was slowly shaped and sculpted
But an indistinguishable lump I remained
.
Then
.
With her warmth I was baked
Into who I am now
A better person in all shapes and forms
.
Then
.
I realised I was in love
